SATstreamer rental unit
The rental unit provides satellite news gatherers, media and facility companies or event organisers a vehicle based IP-Video uplink system, that can be rented on a per day basis. As “light uplinking system” the Satstreamer Unit can provide temporary uplinks for high quality live video contributions for the coverage of breaking news or sport, political, cultural or business events anywhere in Europe.

The SATstreamer Uplink unit consist of an auto-pointing satellite antenna and a flight case containing the transmission and video equipment. The antenna can be put on any vehicle. The flight case has standard interfaces for microphone and camera. The system connects to one of the M2sat Downlink Stations to provide a Live Video Stream.

Key features and capabilities

Broadcast quality MPEG-4/H.264 video/audio streaming system with dedicated transmit IP rates up to 4,5 Mbps depending on the type of downlink station used.
Supports Live Video Streaming and Store and Forward Video. Low latency settings for live interviews and interactive applications.
Extremely easy to use with fully automated terminal deployment with a remote controlled satellite line up procedure. Two-button operation: power on/off, transmit on/off. Uplink system includes touch screen for easy operations and stream monitoring and has standard SDI/Composite in- and outputs for camera, monitor and audio equipment.
Both investment (one way system, with low costs RO system in studio) and operational costs (no dedicated operator needed, requires 50% less satellite capacity) go down to half that of traditional MPEG-2 SNG solutions.

A cost effective uplink solution
Using the unique combination of MPEG-4 encoding and a highly power efficient satellite transmission scheme from an easy to operate unit, the SNGstreamer is characterised by very low operations costs. Using less bandwidth or satellite capacity directly translates into lower operating costs per live video transmission. The satellite capacity can be obtained on occasional use basis and on a pay-what-you-use basis making the M2sat SATstreamer unit even more cost effective.

Extreme user friendly and easy to operate
Setting up a live video connection is extremely simple and a one-button operation. Park the vehicle and switch on the power and the antenna will find the satellite automatically.

Call the downlink stations to bring up the satellite link by remote control.

Switch on the camera to start the transmission and stream live video directly to the studio or streaming server.

No need for satellite engineers on the SNG van, a standard crew of Journalist and cameraman can operate the system.
