The design and development of a wide area broadband network or multi media system can be challenging. Defining the proper requirements for satellite multimedia systems is a first step to incorporate user needs in the assessment. A good overview of the technologic capabilities of satellite and multi media technology is a second requirement. In the specialised world of broadband communication, consultancy projects are a common way where M2sat works in close co-operation with its customers to meet the challenge to provide cost effective and easy to operate solutions for complex requirements.
Research
EU funded research projects were at the basis of the development of the M2sat platform that we currently use for our solutions. As satellite and multimedia technology is still very much in development M2sat always keeps in touch with research projects in this area as funded by the EU or ESA. We are currently involved in the ESA funded SASS 2 project that is developing a second generation Satellite based Alarm and Security system.
People
At the core of our consultancy and research projects is our team of satcom professionals. The M2sat team includes high level technical and engineering staff part of whom are based in Bremen, on a science park near Bremen University. For the business and commercial side we have academic professionals both in Amsterdam and London. We believe that (broadband) satellite communication per definition is a team sport for multi disciplinary teams.
